​​Training of Trainers Course for the NDRF at Palampur (HP)​ - Oct 26 to 30, 2015 ​

A six-day Training of Trainers' (TOT) programme on 'Management of Animals in Disasters for 30 personnel of NDRF ​​from Oct 26 to 30, 2015 was organised jointly by the PPF, NDRF and World Animal Protection at CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur (HP). Dr GCN College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (Dr GCN COVAS) provided the logistic support.

Inaugurating the training programme, Shri KK Katoch, Vice Chancellor of the CSK HP Agriculture University underlined the importance of timely rescue and management of animals during disasters. Delivering the key note address Shri KM Singh (PPF) impressed on the need of integrating livestock disaster management in the overall disaster management framework in the country. He added that training of NDRF personnel in Animal Disaster Management is an important initiative towards this end. Other prominent persons present in the Inaugural function included Shri RK Agnihotri, Dean (Dr GCN COVAS) and Shri Gajender Sharma, Country Head, World Animal Protection.

This programme is a part of six TOT programmes of NDRF personnel (30 trainers in each programme) planned by PPF and WAP in collaboration with NDRF Hqr. The first TOT for NDRF was inaugurated by Shri Kiren Rijijiju (MOS, Home) at College of Veterinary Sciences, Guwahati on May 25, 2015.
